A Gentle Ode to Spring

There’s something about spring that just makes you want to do something, right? The sun’s out a little longer, the breeze feels lighter, and suddenly you’re looking around thinking, “I should clean… I should plant something… maybe even start that project I’ve been putting off.”

And while I love that fresh energy spring brings, I also know how easy it is to get overwhelmed by it.

So here’s your gentle reminder: you don’t have to do it all at once.

This season is an invitation—not a to-do list. And small steps can be just as powerful as big ones.

Let’s talk about a few simple ways to embrace this new season without burning yourself out.

Try short cleaning bursts instead of feeling the need to deep clean

You don’t need a full weekend overhaul to feel refreshed. Just pick a spot, set a timer, and let that be enough.

Some of my favorite ways to do this:

  • 15 to 20-minute cleanups—set a timer and move with focus
  • Clear one surface, one drawer, or one counter at a time
  • Open a window, light a candle, or vacuum a certain area

You’ll be amazed how much lighter your space can feel with just a little movement.

Ease back into the garden—without the pressure

Whether you’ve been dreaming about your spring garden or haven’t touched your pots since fall, it’s okay to start slow.

You don’t need a full plan or a Pinterest-perfect setup. You just need to get outside and take that first step.

Here’s what that could look like:

  • Potting one herb or flower that excites you
  • Walking your space and noticing what’s already growing
  • Loosening the soil, adding compost, or watering what you already have

Let your garden be a place of joy and connection—not another thing on your chore list.

Build momentum by tying it all back to your values

You don’t need to do more—you just need to stay connected to what matters most. That’s where rhythm comes in.

Simple, meaningful habits help keep you grounded without burning you out.

Here are a few gentle ideas to try:

  • A quick evening tidy-up to reset your space
  • A weekly garden check-in to stay connected without pressure
  • A body care ritual at night—using your favorite oil or butter as a way to wind down and reconnect

And don’t forget your kitchen—it’s the heartbeat of your home. Even small shifts like prepping a few nourishing meals or restocking your pantry intentionally can bring a deeper sense of peace and rhythm to your days.

And most importantly—go slow.

I love slow mornings for this reason. You don’t have to keep up with anyone else’s pace. You don’t have to do everything at once. You don’t even have to finish everything you start.

This season is about soft openings. About blooming gently. About trusting that the little things you do each day are enough.
